The Structured Parameters table allows the user to pre-define any variables that may be useful while using the Dynamic Expressions. See Dynamic Expressions page for further details.

These are usually parameters which are set in the deal and are useful to have access to. The user can define each parameter by Category, Name, Unit, Value, and also add a help Description. T-REX supports four types of units - Amount ($), Percentage, Date and Number.

The user can define the value both as a number or as a vector for all the units, aside from the date which will open a calendar.

The user can also open the help description widget for easy editing.

The user can define as many parameters as needed. All parameters will appear in the Structured Library which can be accessed through Dynamic Expressions.

See Dynamic Expressions page for more information.

Best Practices

When defining a Structured Parameter:

  • Use meaningful names
  • Utilize the categories for added structure and organization
  • Always attach a useful, detailed help description
  • Often times, it is a great place to reference the governing document

Using Structured Parameters assures that the user can quickly change the inputs of the deal in one location which is beneficial if there are changes made in the future. For example, if a date has been shifted, simply change the relevant parameters, and all Dynamic Expressions will be updated accordingly. Structured Parameters allow the user to have a clean, organized, easy to use deal structure.
