SFTP is an industry standard, robust, and secure method to transfer data between parties. To set up a new SFTP account and connection with T-REX, the following will be required:

  1. Authentication - Choose whether you prefer password-based or key-based authentication. Key-based is often easier to use in automation and is also more secure, whereas if users will directly connect to our SFTP server password-based authentication might be simpler. Note: For key-based authentication you will need to provide T-REX with a public key.
  2. IP White List - Provide T-REX with a list of IP addresses that will be used when connecting to our SFTP server.

Once we receive this information our engineering team will establish an SFTP account for your company and will communicate the details to your IT staff.

➠ T-REX Platform Upload

Users with permission to upload files to T-REX will see the file Upload section on the bottom of the right side bar on the T-REX homepage.

Uploading files to T-REX:

Users must select the "Upload" button and will be directed to the file upload page.

Users can either drag and drop or browse for their files (see file types below). Users must provide the Deal Name, with no spaces as well as define the Document Type before uploading the document. The user has the following choices of Document Types: Indenture, Loan Tape, Model, OM, Remittance, and Other.

Important to Note:

Once the file has successfully been uploaded, the user must click the upload button in the top right corner of the screen. This is necessary for the file to reach T-REX. Once a green check mark with the phrase "Files uploaded successfully" is shown next to the Upload button, the file has been successfully received.

➠ Custom

Our engineering group can work directly with your IT staff on custom requirements that fit with a currently adopted method of data transfer. A typical scenario is using an AWS S3 bucket as a common file repository. The client deposits their files into the bucket monthly. T-REX checks the bucket routinely, downloads, and processes new deliveries.

Please contact T-REX support to discuss the details for establishing a custom data transfer process.

 Emailing files to T-REX

Email Address

data@trexanalytics.com

Data files can be emailed directly to T-REX. This can be an ad hoc transfer, or used as a method for scheduled data transfers.

Note: Email is not a secure method of transferring data. For data files containing sensitive information, we recommend using TRA Upload or SFTP options.

File Naming Convention and Supported Types

Regardless of data transfer methodwe ask clients to define and follow a consistent file name format. At a minimum, please include your company name or abbreviation, a name representing the deal, and a date in a standard format, along with the file type extension e.g. TREX_USSOL2021_2021-01-01.xlsx.

Note: A valid date in the file name is critical as it is used to identify related files processed in batches. The date format must also remain consistent across periods. For example, the date format in TREX_USSOL2021_2021-01-01.xlsx and TREX_USSOL2021_02012021.xlsx are not consistent. Whereas, TREX_USSOL2021_2021-01-01.xlsx and TREX_USSOL2021_2021-02-01.xlsx are consistent.

The following file formats are supported:
